What Information Do You Need Before Placing a Bulk Jacket Order?
If you've ever submitted a bulk jacket inquiry and received a vague reply, or waited days for a quote that still needed more information — the problem usually isn't the supplier. It's that the inquiry didn't include the details needed to price and plan the order accurately.
Coming prepared with the right information doesn't just speed things up. It also gives you more control over the process, helps you get accurate pricing on the first pass, and reduces the risk of surprises down the line.
Here's everything you need before you place your first inquiry.
1. Jacket Style and Type
What kind of jacket are you ordering? Varsity, bomber, puffer, fleece, coach? The style affects pricing, lead times, and customization options. If you're not sure which style fits your needs, that's okay — but mention what you're trying to achieve so the supplier can make a recommendation.
2. Quantity
How many jackets do you need? Even a rough number is helpful at the inquiry stage. Most custom jacket suppliers price on volume — 10 jackets costs more per unit than 100. Knowing your quantity upfront ensures you get the right pricing bracket.
3. Size Breakdown
If you know it, include how many of each size you need. If you haven't collected sizes yet, you can indicate the total quantity and note that sizes are still being confirmed.
4. Color Requirements
What colors do you want for the body, sleeves, lining, and any other panels? If you have brand colors with Pantone references or hex codes, include them. If you're working from a logo, share the file.
5. Customization Details
What do you want printed or embroidered on the jackets? This includes: logo placement (left chest, back, sleeves), personalization (individual names or numbers), additional text (team name, year, slogan), and decoration technique (embroidery, chenille, printed).
If you have artwork files ready, share them at the inquiry stage. Vector files (.ai, .eps) are ideal.
6. Deadline or Event Date
When do you need the jackets? Be specific — include the event or delivery date if there is one. Custom jackets typically take 3-6 weeks from design approval to delivery.
7. Budget Expectation
You don't have to share an exact figure, but having a rough per-unit budget in mind helps the supplier recommend the right product tier.
